 Executive Summary:

On September 23, 2023, students and staff of the Narmadal College of Management (NCM), collaborated with the Rotary Club of Bharuch, Narmada Nagari, for a noble cause. The joint effort aimed to provide clothing donations to the flood-affected population of Mangleshwar and Shuklatirth. This report outlines the details of the event, including its objectives, execution, outcomes, and future recommendations. 

Introduction:

Floods have a devastating impact on communities, leaving thousands of people without access to basic necessities like clothing. In response to the recent floods in Mangleshwar and Shuklatirth, the students and staff of NCM were determined to extend a helping hand to those in need. Partnering with the Rotary Club of Bharuch, Narmada Nagari, this collaborative initiative aimed to provide relief in the form of clothing donations. 

Objectives:

The primary objectives of this initiative were:

  1. To provide clothing donations to the flood-affected population of Mangleshwar and Shuklatirth.
  2. To demonstrate social responsibility and civic engagement among NCM students and staff.
  3. To foster a sense of community involvement and goodwill.

 

Execution:

The event took place on September 23, 2023, at the premises of NCM. The following steps were taken to ensure its success:

  1. Coordination: NCM students and staff worked closely with the Rotary Club of Bharuch, Narmada Nagari to plan and execute the event. Roles and responsibilities were assigned to ensure a smooth process.
  2. Clothing Collection: A clothing donation drive was organized within the NCM campus in the days leading up to the event. Students and staff generously contributed gently used clothing items.
  3. Logistics: The collected clothing items were sorted, cleaned, and packed for distribution. The Rotary Club of Bharuch, Narmada Nagari provided logistical support, including transportation.
  4. Distribution: On the event day, volunteers from NCM and the Rotary Club of Bharuch, Narmada Nagari visited the flood-affected areas of Mangleshwar and Shuklatirth. The clothing donations were distributed to the affected families. 

Outcomes:

The joint effort of NCM students, staff, and the Rotary Club of Bharuch, Narmada Nagari resulted in several positive outcomes:

  1. Clothing Donations: A significant quantity of clothing items, including clothes for all age groups, was collected and distributed among the flood-affected population.

Student participation in Solvay India Open House

Venue : Solvay Specialities India Pvt Ltd, Panoli Date     :     13 Dec 2017     As per the invitation from Solvay Specialities Pvt Ltd, 8 students and 2 faculties from Narmada college of Management participated in the “Open House” event organised by Solvay, on 13 th of December. Dr Chetna Makwana (associate professor) and Prof Rashmi Ghamawala (assistant professor) along with 8 students (from different specialisation) visited the company. The event started sharp at 10 am, where students and faculties of different colleges of Bharuch district were present, namely, SVMIT, KJ Polytechnic etc, along with the employees and staff of Solvay.
