NARMADA COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT DISCUSSION FORUM

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

A glimpse of the Discussion Forum

Discussion Forums strengthen collaboration in Teams. NCM inaugurated its first Discussion Forum on Friday 16th July, 2021 in the presence of Dr. P H Shah Sir, Dr. Trupti Almoula Madam and all Faculties.

Dr. Shah started the session by expressing his views on purpose of Education. He referred to Albert Einstein’s quote on Education “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think”. In spite of 12 to 16 years of formal education people lack the ability to think critically and solve problems.

There have been great thinkers in history like Isaac Newton, Gautama Buddha, Osho, Prophet Muhammad, Jesus Christ etc. One thing they have in common is the willingness to question the workings of their own mind and the world around them. They had a passion for thought and a conviction that their ideas must be shared. Others have just blindly followed them.

So the discussion theme for the day was Free thinking and Open mindedness. It was an exercise where each participant had to think upon if he/she was a free thinker? If he/she was an open minded person? And what prevented him/her to be an open minded person?

Each one reflected and expressed their opinions. It was a good opportunity to evaluate one’s self.

The Discussion Forum next meets on 23rd July, 2021, and the discussion would be on Emotional and Rational Thinking.
