MBA – ORIENTATION PROGRAMME REPORT – 2021

Venue:  Conference Room, Narmada College of Management & Conference Room, NCSC

 An Orientation Programme for MBA- Full Time students of the new batch of ‘21-’23 was held on 25th & 26 September ,at 10.00 O’clock to 5.30 at the Conference Hall of Narmada College of Management, and Narmada college of Science and commerce, Narmada Campus.



Welcoming the students, Dr. Trupti S Almoula, Director, Narmada College of Management, in her address congratulated the students for taking a bold decision to join the MBA programme and urged them to have a larger perspective of their decision to join the MBA programme by understanding the overall education scenario in light of the New Education Policy launched by the Government in 2019. She address students for their new academic journey and  new vistas for development. She also welcomes our director NEST Dr P H shah Sir, Expert Dr Raju Rathod sir and new students.






Dr. Chetna Makwana gave a brief idea about the programme, follwed by introduction of faculty by second year students.



Dr Raju Rathod Sir, expert for the first day of OP-2021, has initiated the session on “Get your Maximum from Management Programme: What and How” through various tools like games, team building exercises, Brain stroming etc. Sir has create the foundation for MBA graduate in terms of what they should learn, why and how they can maximize they learning during the MBA Programme through various intervention. Student participated with great enthusiasum in all activities initiated by expert faculty. This session was enlightening as well as useful to understand the significance of MBA study and students investment in education.

 Mr. Adhvait Pillai, NCM alumni address our new batch of MBA highlighting what is the career option for MBA marketing, what is the role of this two year of MBA programme in their development and lifelong learning.

 First day of Orietation was ended with brief introduction of new students and their aspiration of joining the MBA at Narmada College of Management and national Anthem.


Second day of Orietation programme was started with Mediataiton and session on Art of Living By Shri Parag Sheth, Teacher and guide of Art of Living. This session was organized for the overall development of students to understand the significance of balance life at every stage. Meditation and some basic question for real understanding of life, is address by expert in this session.



 

Session two on day -2 of OP- 2021 was hosted by Dr. P H Shah, Director, NEST and co host by Dr Subhash Yadav, Faculty NCM on Happiness Index. Experts of this session explain and discuss the meaning of happiness, purpose of life, what are the factors that affect happiness, how one can choose to be happy, and how self assessment can be done to have deeper self awareness to make life fulfilling.

 



Lecture by Dr. Vipin Kumar (Kohler Pvt. Ltd.), is organized to orient the new students about career option and attitude, skill and knowledge required or demanded in industry from MBA Graduates.  Sir has put forth the challenges and opportunities available to MBA gradualted in current era, and guide the student in designing their journey of MBA.

To orient the students about Narmada College in articulating the life and development of student’s professional carrier, Alumni of NCM Ms Harsh Choudhry, and Mr. Pushpak Parmar were instrumental. They stated the significant role NCM played in their professional development. They also guide students for various specialization and respective field of job as MBA graduates.

 Programme proceed with the session of Shri G C Shah Sir, who present the MOU with SEWA Rural and NCM. Sir has described in detail the various development activities carried out by SEWA for societal development and contribution to public of Bharuch District. He has also specified how MBA student can be part of this activities while learning in MBA program.

 Second Phase of Orientation progrmame was organized on 18th October, 2021, to address students about code of Conduct at NCM and other operational an dacademic aspect of the institutions. This was started by welcome address by Dr Trupti Almoula, followed by Dr P H shah sir address, where they not only welcome guest and students but, highlight the importance of education, leaning and attitude in students’ life. Sir had highlighted this teaching thorugh KAS; Knowledge, attitude and Skill and how we can this wealth with us in our future journey. Sir has also provided e-book “Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” written by Rashmi Bansal, to give new perspective to B school students.

 Dr B M Rawal, Prinicipal, NCSC highlight the future transformation in eduction through NEP Policy and state that how this be great shift in quality education. Sir has ended his sppech by wishing student good life and good opportunity ahead.



OP 2021, Day three was proceed by Dr Chetna Makwana, faculty NCM, with history of Narmada Campus, and establishment of MBA Program, Narmada College of Management in year 2000. Prof Chetna has explained the academic code of conduct viz. Subject, Examination, CEC and other criteria for MBA programme as well as academic calendar for the semester one. She has address the students on legal compliance at NCM like women redressal committee, Women development Cell, Grievance redressal Cell etc. with specifying the name of coordinators of this cell at NCM.

 Prof Rashmi Ghamawala addressed the students about Placement activity and Alumni cell at NCM. She described the process and detail activities that carried out for placement throughout the year at NCM to fetch the good companies and ling term relationship with Employer. She also highlights the role of student committee in this task.

 Progrmme was furthered by Prof Iram Khan, who explained the co curricular and extracurricular activities which are practice at Narmada college of Management. She described the planning of activities throughout the year at various level, college level, University level and state level. She also explain the functioning of CED cell at NCM and planning of whole year activities pertaining to the CED cell for entrepreneurial development amongst students.

 Shri Kanu Raval has detailed about Computer and IT infrastructure facilitates available at NCM as well as rules and regulation for the usage of this facility. He gave idea about the NCM online education portal and how it can be used by students for learning and other academic purposes. This session was proceed by Dr Shailesh Shah, Librarian of NCM, who guided the student about Rich library of NCM, rules of library, and e- resources available to NCM students. He also provided information about library software used at NCM and its operating system.

  At last Prof Shital Pandya open up new idea to MBA aspirant, i.e. whole some personality to broaden the perspective of new students. The Movie on freedom was shown to students, which is dialogue with self, to open new vistas to students. The session was extended by Prof Shubhash Yadav, who described, why MBA and Why NCM, by stating what comprise the MBA programme.  This session was ended by vote of thanks by Dr Chetna R Makwana.

  Second session of Day-3 was coordinated by second year students, which comprise various Management games under the guidance of Prof Rashmi Ghamawala and Prof Iram Khan to initiate the integration amongst students and introducing management attributes to the first semester students. Various games was anchored by students, where new students has participated and enjoyed fully.


OP-2021 was ended by closing remarks by Dr Trupti Almoula, Director, NCM to gear up students for new endeavor and vote of thanks by Dr Chetna Makwana with expressing sincere gratitude to all Director, NEST, Director NCM, all faculty members, Experts, staff members as well as students to make this event worthy.



 The Orientaiton Programme- 2021 which has spreaded in full three day activities was really good experience and nice starting of MBA journey for new entrants. Expert and faculty members have oriented the students on various aspects of education as well as lifelong lessons. Student participation in Solvay India Open House

Venue : Solvay Specialities India Pvt Ltd, Panoli Date     :     13 Dec 2017     As per the invitation from Solvay Specialities Pvt Ltd, 8 students and 2 faculties from Narmada college of Management participated in the “Open House” event organised by Solvay, on 13 th of December. Dr Chetna Makwana (associate professor) and Prof Rashmi Ghamawala (assistant professor) along with 8 students (from different specialisation) visited the company. The event started sharp at 10 am, where students and faculties of different colleges of Bharuch district were present, namely, SVMIT, KJ Polytechnic etc, along with the employees and staff of Solvay. All the participants were welcomed by Pratish Koparkar, who warmly welcome with his delightful words and starting off the briefing about various safety measures that need to be taken care of. The main guests who were addressing the audience were Mukesh Malhotra, Amlanabha Das who was the HR head of Solvay India,

Students Participation in "All India Essay Writing Event 2016"

Our students Ms. Fatema Ibrahim Surti and Ms. Sashista A. Chauhan participated in  "All India Essay Writing Event 2016" organised by Shri Ram Chandra Mission, United Nation Information Center for India and Bhutan, and The Heartfulness Institute.
