An "HR Horizon -2021" was organised by Narmada College of Management, Bharuch in collaboration with V.C. Shah Patel services ltd., Bharuch and Tirupati placement consultancy ltd. Baroda. This event talked about how much importance technology possesses, in the field of HR. and also, some of the essential HR & Management lessons. In this event HR professional from various industries were present. Also the first & second year MBA students from Narmada College of Management were present. This event was divided into two sessions; HR Tech Talk and HR insights from societal actions.



The event started with prayer to express gratitude and by lighting of lamp by all dignitaries. In the opening of inaugural session, Professor Rashmi Madam, HR faculty from Narmada College of management, gave welcome address and overview of the event.

Shri Bhaskar Joshi, HR consultant and advisor & management trainer, briefly described his journey where he spoke about how technology is present in every area and not conventional method.



HR TECH TALK

Mr. Chintan Trivedi (Deputy Manager-HR ONGC Petro Additions Limited Vadodara) was speaker of the first session. The session started at 10:45 am. The speaker highlighted the importance of adapting to change by quoting "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change."-Charles Darwin

In conclusion the speaker highlighted in demand skill for HR which includes:

·         Analytics

·         Strategic workforce planning

·         Organisational design

·         People management

·         Business Acumen

·         Digital literacy


HR INSIGHTS FROM SOCIETAL ACTIONS

Mr. Raghunath Madge (President, Mumbai Dabbawala) was the speaker of 2nd session where he talked about his journey and gave valuable management lessons. The Dabbawala service was registered as a commercial Association in 1968 (Mumbai Tiffin Box Supplier's Association) There are 5,000 Dabbawala in Mumbai, delivering lunch to 200,000 people every day (400,000 transactions every day). Every dabbawala is equal shareholder and they earn 13,000 to 15,000 salaries per month. They deliver food on bicycles without any use of technology and with almost no errors.

The association has flat structure which includes

i.      Governing body

j.      Team leader/supervisor

k.    Dabbawal

The speaker has shared different approaches to his business which includes:

·     Discipline

·     No alcohol during work hours

·     To carry identity card

·     Wearing white cap during working hours which act as marketing strategy

·     No leave without prior notice

He believes that work is worship and motivation should come from within. You should do your work properly with dedication and hard work.

Professor Rashmi Ghamawala madam has delivered final vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude towards all dignitaries, speakers, faculty, staff members and all the participants and students. She also highlighted key takeaways from both sessions.
