The session started at 3:30 PM at the conference hall of NCSC. The guest of the day was welcomed by Rakesh sir through the brief introduction of the guest of the evening.
Dr. Shailesh started his speech by acknowledging the disease of TB which is micro bacterial tuberculosis. The disease mostly affects the lungs of the human body if the disease is not treated timely it will also affect the other organs of the body.
Talking about the statistics in 2019, 2640000 people were suffering from TB, and out of them, 445000 were driven to death.
The government works at different levels like primary level, taluka level, state level, etc. The Disease is attacked through three means; those are
1) Agent
2) Host
3) Environment.
Some of the reasons why the human body is affected by TB is like low immunity power, Diabetes level not in control, an Overcrowded environment, and Poor Ventilation. This disease is can be caused in different parts like the brain, limbs, spinal cord, bones, etc. Mainly the transmission of TB is through sneezing and coughing without the coverings. The possibility of transmission through the TB-positive patient is 30% only.
Determinants of TB are of 3 types
1) Biological
2) Socioeconomic
3) Occupational.
The biological determinants include an HIV-positive person and the person who has a high addiction to consuming drugs and alcohol. In other words, we can say biological determinants include behavioural factors. Socioeconomics includes the connection with the social environment and everyday meetings and getting connected to the different people of the society and surrounding. Lastly, the last determinant which is the occupational determinant includes the place of work where the dusting is to its greater extent.
The symptoms of TB are cough for more than 2 weeks, Fever for more than 2 weeks, Lose weight, Night sweats, Chest pain, Loss of appetite.
The bacteria of TB are already present in our body but are not active till we are in a healthy state of the body. The testing for TB is done through the early morning cough.
The four drugs are usually provided to the patient of curing them. They are
1. Isoniazid
2. Rifampicin
3. Pyrazinamide
4. Ethambutol.
Later all 4 drugs were mixed and a new component was formed instead of 4 drugs a single drug was enough for curing.
The prevention of TB is good ventilation, Natural life, Good hygiene, and Childhood vaccination.
The government also provides some funding to TB patients. Rs. 500 per month for the nutrition of the patient. Rs. 750 per month for the people living in tribal and slum areas. So this was all in the seminar.
