RAJENDRA INAMDAR, DIRECTOR (MBA) ANGADI INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, BELGAUM,
KARNATAKA
DATE: 25/01/2016,
MONDAY, 15:00 TO 16:00 HRS, CONFERENCE HALL
A session was arranged for the
final year students as part of the placement activities for upgrading their
knowledge and skills for job placements. The speaker was Dr. Rajendra Inamdar, Director (MBA),
Angadi Institute of Management, Belgaum, Karnataka. Dr. Inamdar did his PhD in International
Marketing and he is also an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad.
Dr.
Inamdar stressed the need to develop a career orientation amongst the students
and not merely a job orientation. Outlining the difference between sight and
vision he said that students should have a vision about where they see five or
ten years hence forth from now. Asking them to focus on learning and knowledge
in their initial years of the career, he said that package
and other financial rewards will be taken care of if you have the right kind of
skills and knowledge.
He also gave many practical examples from his own life as
well as that of his students who learned the necessary skills and worked hard
even at a lower salary in their initial years only to become hugely successful
in their later years.
Finally he also stressed the role of friends and
relationships in the successful careers. The students enjoyed the interaction
and felt that it was a good learning experience.
