Elocution is the art of careful public speaking, using clear pronunciation and good breathing to control the voice. Public Speaking refers to the art of communicating with a large audience. Public speaking plays an important role in one’s career.For an individual to do well professionally, he/she needs to communicate effectively. Not everyone is born with effective communication skills, but one can certainly master the same with time and practice. Public speaking plays a crucial role in improving your communication skills.

Junior Chamber International (JCI) organised an “Open Elocution Competition”at Big Bazaar, Shalimar, Bharuch on 13th September 2018 from 5 pm onwards.
It invited participation from various colleges and schools across Bharuch city

Topics for the competition were pertaining to environment
1.      Steps towards water conservation
2.      Waste management-our responsibility

There was no restriction for the age and language of speech. The time limit given for the speech was 3 minutes. The participants were evaluated by two judges namely, Dr. Suketu Dave and Dr Palak Kapadia.

Student participation in Solvay India Open House

Venue : Solvay Specialities India Pvt Ltd, Panoli Date     :     13 Dec 2017     As per the invitation from Solvay Specialities Pvt Ltd, 8 students and 2 faculties from Narmada college of Management participated in the “Open House” event organised by Solvay, on 13 th of December. Dr Chetna Makwana (associate professor) and Prof Rashmi Ghamawala (assistant professor) along with 8 students (from different specialisation) visited the company. The event started sharp at 10 am, where students and faculties of different colleges of Bharuch district were present, namely, SVMIT, KJ Polytechnic etc, along with the employees and staff of Solvay. All the participants were welcomed by Pratish Koparkar, who warmly welcome with his delightful words and starting off the briefing about various safety measures that need to be taken care of.
